I’ve just hired 2 new staff members and I’ve never met them!
4 months since the Coronavirus pandemic first took its grasp and it has been the strangest time ever.

As many of you know, running a business is full of its highs and lows and it has been a rollercoaster of emotions since I set up Lucid Recruitment almost 6 years ago. One thing I had never accounted for in my business plan, was that one day in March, the business would literally be turned off at the mains. It was something that could never have been predicted and has been the biggest learning curve of my life.
Fortunately, as a business we have managed to survive by the skin of our teeth and this has largely been due to the assistance the Government offered, along with a small number of our temporary workers who have been working throughout the pandemic in the care sector. To those temporary workers not only do I applaud you, but I sincerely thank you for your dedication and work ethic.
So, as we start to see the light at the end of the tunnel, it has been time as a business owner to start looking at the future of the business and seek to grow our small team.
For those of you who are considering hiring in these turbulent times, rest assured that the process is almost easier than it was previously.
We decided to take on 2 new starters who will be joining the Lucid Dream Team in August. Both candidates successfully passed 2 vigorous rounds of interviews via Zoom and managed to secure offers which they have both accepted. Granted, a zoom interview is not something we have ever done before, but needs must. I am really looking forward to meeting my 2 new staff members for the first time and hopefully growing as a team and a business.
If you would like any hints or tips about the new zoom interview process which will undoubtably become very normal practice over the coming months, please do not hesitate to reach out and I will do my best to assist.
