Lucid Recruitment Tee’s Up with One of Wales’ Most Promising Golfers

Lucid Recruitment is proud to announce an exciting sponsorship deal with one of Wales’ most promising young golfers, William Pontin.
Lucid will become William’s primary backer helping the 2018 Ping Golf Wales Junior Champion continue his rapid development. Aged just 10, William has already amassed an impressive golfing CV with no less than two holes-in-one to his name. The 2018 season saw him win both the Ping Golf Wales Championship and Order of Merit; he was selected into the Wales academy set-up and was unbeaten as he represented the Glamorgan County golf team.
Lucid, Cardiff’s premier sales recruitment specialist, will see their unique branding added to William’s golf bag, while William will also wear Lucid branded golf shirts and jumpers. William will also play the 2019 season with the latest custom-engineered Ping Prodi G golf clubs.
Based out of Pyle and Kenfig Golf Club, William from Hawthorn, Pontypridd regularly plays in golf tournaments across the UK. In August he played at the home of golf St. Andrews when he participated in the UK finals of the Wee Wonders. He has also played in front of the Sky Sports golf cameras in events such as the American Golf UK Junior finals.
Richard Shorten, Managing Director of Lucid Recruitment, hopes the sponsorship deal can set William up for the 2019 season and beyond: “I’ve never seen a youngster who shows so much golfing maturity. He’s brilliant to watch and who knows, perhaps we might be partnering with the next Tiger Woods or Rory McIlroy! We are delighted to be able to help William. He has an outstanding talent for someone so young and we want to give him all the support we can.”
William, who attends Parc Lewis Primary School, Pontypridd, is looking forward to representing Lucid. “I’m very grateful to have Lucid on my bag. 2018 was a great season for me personally and I’m excited to improve as quickly as I can. Having Lucid’s support means that I will be able to get my 2019 season off with a bang. It’s my dream to turn professional and win multiple Major golf tournaments so having such great backing from Richard and the Lucid Recruitment team is going to be amazing.”

William Pontin is a welsh golfer aged 10 who is coached by Wenvoe Castle Golf Club professional Jason Harris. William has won over 60 junior events; played in multiple UK finals; won the 2018 Ping Golf Wales Championship and Order of Merit; 2017 Ping Golf Wales Order of Merit and 2016 Ping Golf Wales Junior Championships. He lives in Pontypridd and plays at Pyle and Kenfig Golf Club. He has an unbeaten record when representing Glamorgan County Golf and has been selected into the Golf Wales academy set up.
